Home Transition to Kindergarten

Starting kindergarten is a big change for both children and families. It involves excitement, some nerves, and a need to navigate new routines. Being prepared for kindergarten is more than knowing how to count and being able to sing the alphabet. For your child, it is knowing how to stand in a line, sharing, and taking turns. For you, it’s navigating a new school system, schedule, and the school calendar.

Here are some ways to ease the transition:

Your child must be five years old before September 2 of the enrolling year.
